Thom Thom

Loving the newest addition to my design book collection "Thom Felicia Style."

Got it signed at an event two weeks ago - love his personal note. When I'm a fancy schmancy pants designer, I'll sign my book "Big Kiss" if you ask.

This outdoor picture is one of my favorites - it was the inspiration my third blog post back in '08!

Great neutral room with a splash of red.

This is the inspiration image for his "exotic" chapter - it's definitely going into my style files.

Books Glorious Books!

With a few new clients on the roster (HOORAY!) I decided it was time to expand my design book library. I bought these two and have no regrets:

Book #1: Glamorous Rooms by Jan Showers.

I've blogged on Jan Showers rooms before - she does classic/traditional with an updated, fresh feeling.

LOVE this entry.

And the stool at this vanity is insane.

Love this clean, rich bedroom.

Book #2: Downtown Chic by Robert and Cortney Novogratz. The bedroom on the cover is to die for.

It has some gorgeous detail shots.

The brick arches (which looks 100 years old, but are new) paired with that chandelier. Ahh!

Great modern kitchen.

Simple, graphic art at the fireplace.

That purple is fabulous.

And would that be your fantasy room as a little girl or what?Fabulous inspiration!

It's Not My Vault

I am in love with this book, Heavenly Vaults: From Romanesque to Gothic European Architecture, mentioned in this month's Dwell Magazine.

These images look like trippy kaleidoscopes. Nopes. They are gorgeous vaulted ceilings from Europe (not too many buildings in LA look like that!)

Not sure if I'd keep this book in my library, or hang it on the wall and flip the page everyday to see another gorgeous image.

It's going on my Amazon wishlist. For those of you keeping up with the countdown, my 30th birthday is in 117 days.
