the GOODS {loves} Made Goods

While leafing through the newest Elle Decor, I fell in love with this gorgeous side chest. Herringbone + Horn = HANDSOME! (I would normally say "gorgeous" but I was looking for a positive adjective that begins with an H!)

So I decided to investigate the company that made it - conveniently called Made Goods. Totally stunning and totally unique goodies.

The Coco Tray - a reproduction of a piece of coral - rimmed in either silver or gold. LOVE.

Another unique find - a zebra mirror...
Made of black and white shells! WHAT?!

The Ives mirror - lattice work from capiz shells. I want to see it in a dining room: the mirror, a simple raw wood dining table and some chic Louis chairs with fun fabric - DONE!

This bone inlay chair is gorgeous... Would love to see it in an enormous custom closet - I would sit in it to do my makeup... That's another part of my 10-year-plan (see yesterday's post for more detail.)Happy Friday! I'll spend my weekend daydreaming about my enormous {dream} custom closet with my {dream} chair.

Mirror Mirror!

The first of my new mirrors have arrived - we order the Suzanne Kasler mirrors for Ballard Designs to put in the den over our sofa.

The inspiration came to go ahead and order the mirrors on my fabulous Orange County shopping trip day with Rebecca June. I did a grouping of fun mirrors for my first client and I've been in love with the idea ever since... My husband and I had originally thought to do fun silhouettes over the sofa, but when I saw an inspiration image while with Rebecca, I knew I had to pull the trigger on these mirrors.

These are the ones that arrived this morning.

I'm still waiting on these ones (which will be coming between November and December - BOO!)

I did a sketch in AutoCad of how I'd like to layout the mirrors and I'm thinking something like this... But I have until December, so I might do a few more versions and get some opinions.
See the desk to the left? That's where I'm sitting now. I feel like you all are spying on me!

Not So Ironic

I am head over heels for furniture company Ironies. Was looking for some goodies for clients, but also came across all these gorgeous things. Waiting to get pricing back from the showroom here in LA who carries them - hoping it's not TOO crazy expensive. But the things I love usually are :)

Where I live in LA, ceiling fans are a must. If I could, I'd trade the one in my bedroom for this beautiful lighting fixture.

Their mirrors are also insane (and notice, I still have an obsession with the quatrefoil motif!)

Another trend that's been around for a while that still works for me is natural elements - I think every house should have some mixed in...

Like a petrified stump
Or a root table.

This bedside table would look sick in my house.

I will have sweet dreams about stunning furniture tonight.

I'm Not Over You Just Yet...

There are some trends that I'm not over yet:
1. Lucite (which is good, because I've got both a lucite coffee table and a Louis ghost chair.)
2. Birds/birdcages.
3. Bamboo.

Love for trend #3 was re-ignited the other day as I was flipping through the Williams Sonoma Home catalog and saw this groovy rug.

I have a few different bamboo items in my own home, but they definitely have to be used sparingly (just like lucite or birdcages.)

I have a floor lamp from Jonathan Adler's Meurice collection, but I'm also madly in love with these two goodies from his collection.

This Horchow bench would look fabulous in an entry hall.

This Jonathan Adler wallpaper would make an amazing powder room.

I love how Erin from Elements of Style used his silver & white paper in her kitchen cabinets.

LOVE this gold bamboo flatware from Horchow.

Great Bloomingdale's picture frame, for just a splash of bamboo.

Two bamboo goodies I put in a client's home:
This bar cart from Baker.

Wall mirror from Mitchell Litt in Sherman Oaks.
Bamboo-licious. Love it all.

Moroccan Dream!

After blogging last week about my successful shopping day at local Moroccan shopping PALACE (it's too large to be called a store) Badia Design, a great friend emailed me pictures of furniture she had rented from them for her pre-wedding Henna Party. Their goodies are so gorgeous, I can hardly stand it.

Look at this amazing outdoor lounge set up!

These giant mirrors are INSANE!!! The rugs and fabrics and poufs are to die for!

Love the fabric tented ceiling and decadent chandelier!
This would be an amazing set up for any party - can you image the most gorgeous baby shower? Love it.

It's Coming Together!

We had a fabulous delivery from Hickory Chair today at a client's home (it honestly felt like Christmas for this Jewish girl!) So I thought I'd pull out my new fancy camera (a Canon EOS) and snap some progress shots...

Btw, only the living room furniture is Hickory Chair, the rest is from all over (I can't give away ALL my trade secrets!)

And living room AFTER! (Clearly we still have plenty more to bring in, cocktail table, lamps, side tables, etc)

This chair might be my favorite piece of furniture of all time

These are the mirrors we had installed in her powder roomNow if you'll excuse me, I just received my first issue of Canadian House & Home (which along with Lonny will hopefully fill the hole in my heart left by the void of Domino.) I am locking myself in my office until I am done reading it.

M is for... Mirror

So we are halfway through my A-Z's of interior design. It wouldn't be M without mirrors - one of my favorite finishes in interior design.

This mirror says it all.

Love it! Found it in Angeleno Magazine (Nov 09 issue.) At Martin Showroom.

This white modern-meets-baroque mirror is from Velocity - I might be getting the black one for my mantel!

Some more interestingly shaped mirrors - I can never pass up an adorable bird.
From Velocity.

This one's got the bird in reverse - also Velocity.

Some gorgeous, interesting shapes from Vivre.

Love this look-for-less from West Elm.

These mirrored shelves from Horchow are killing it! I am waiting for the right client to come along to use these!

Here are some more great Horchow mirrored furniture ideas:

A little more on the modern side...

And a little more traditional...

I love this mirrored vanity and mirrored stool!

This mirrored armoire is going in a client's bedroom - can't wait to see it!
Mirror mirror everywhere!
