Best of the Goods - Wild Thing Edition

Going through my previous blog posts, it became very clear that I love a splash of zebra print. I have so many images with zebra print to choose from! But what worries me is this: if I love zebra so much, why don't I have any in my own home? This is something that needs to be remedied in 2011.

I think this post teaches us, zebra can go anywhere.

Glam Monday

I'm feeling in a glam-mood this Monday...

Love this chandelier - I feel like it can make any austere space go totally glam.

This new sofa from Bunny Williams is so gorgeous I'm not sure what to do with myself (as seen in Canadian House and Home.)

This pink/girlie-glam bedroom from the Ballard Designs catalog was put together by one of my favorite designers, Suzanne Kasler.

Pink + tufting + zebra = glam for life.

The Lonny Lowdown

Each time Lonny (the fab online magazine) comes out, I squeal with joy and run to my computer to post my favorite goodies. While today I wasn't able to run to my computer (had a client meeting this morning, followed by an epic visit to the Pacific Design Center to find the PERFECT blue velvet - I honestly might have gotten 50 samples), I am thrilled to present you with the best of the best, my favorite looks from the third issue of Lonny.

The cover features the apartment of sisters Victoria and Antonia Thompson. Also features the Dash & Albert rug I blogged about yesterday (great minds think alike?)

Their apartment was my favorite spread - gorgeous and eclectic - looked well thought-out without looking stuffy or overly designed.

Great use of zebra.

That mirror on the mantel is killer.

Another great spread was on designer Betsy Burnham (who I shown some blog love here before) and her Instant/Space design services - doing design concepting for a client who will then go out themselves and do the leg work/purchasing - a great idea for doing a long distance job (like I am for a friend in Washington DC!) or for a client who is looking for a custom designed home without a ridiculous price tag. Love the final product!

And the coolest part of the article? It included my friend from design school, Alyssa! (that's her on the right)

An image from another article - my husband and I are planning a similar idea for our hallway - this image made me even more excited for it!

In another spread, I LOVE this Farrow + Ball wallpaper.

And finally, a tabletop that's definitely inspiring me to through a dinner party! Another great issue!!!

E is for... Entry

I really do live in my dream house - we have gorgeous French doors, a fantastic kitchen, and a wonderful yard, but if I could change two things, we would have bigger closets and a formal entry for me to decorate. Here are some of my favorite entry spaces at other peoples' homes:

These first three are from the Domino book of decorating.

I LOVE the chandelier and the drapes - I'm trying to convince a client to do a similar drapery look in her formal entry space - let's hope she lets me pull the trigger!

This entry has two of my favorite elements: peacock mirror and zebra rug.

From the blue color to the patterned runner to the sweet doggy, I love this one

This entry is by Thom Felicia featured in House Beautiful. I like that he doesn't over-do it with massive furniture - the sweet chair and great lanterns go a long way,

Another House Beautiful one, designed by Alessandra Branca, has a gorgeous suzani bench pictured in the lower right corner. I want it!

And last (but certainly not least), I'm loving this black wallpaper from Rita Konig's entry from Domino Mag.

If You're Going to San Francisco

In honor of my trip this past weekend to San Francisco to celebrate my grandmother-in-law's birthday (happy birthday GrandJeanne!), I'm posting the gorgeous San Francisco home of Monelle Total from Elle Decor. Monelle is vice-president of design for Williams Sonoma Home, and her house has that easy yet dressed up vibe that I think they are so good at.

We all know I'm a sucker for a zebra print hide...
I love the white/black decor.

And the wall color in the dining room is giving me a case of color envy.
