Penny-pinching is once again cool. Our grandparents were "Frugal
McDougals" as I call them. But our parents lived it up in the 80's, trying to keep up with the
yuppy cool. But with the economy still waiting to make its comeback, it is
cool to bring your lunch to work (as described by Erin at Elements of Design). It is cool to find great dresses at H&M and Forever 21. The mall is empty, but the outlet mall is packed.
So it is no surprise that I've been seeing piggy banks everywhere!
This one was on the blog last year - a gorgeous gold (but not cheap) piggy bank from
Calypso Home.

Though if you have the money to buy this piggy bank, I think you don't need to be saving up your pennies.
This great modern one was in this month's
Dwell Magazine. The Drop Money Bank by
Rita Botelho.

I also love this one, the
Volcoino by Karim
Rashid. Saw it on
Rare Bird Finds blog...

Save up those pennies!
