In spite of the torrential rains that the greater-Houston area has been experiencing since Monday, our builder has managed to break ground on our new house. My mom was in the neighborhood Tuesday afternoon and swung by "just to see" and -- as promised -- work has begun. I hope to make it by myself this weekend to take a look around at the progress. So far, it's a lot of pipes and dirt, but suddenly it's starting to feel very, very real. |

Week One: The Beginning
In spite of the torrential rains that the greater-Houston area has been experiencing since Monday, our builder has managed to break ground on our new house. My mom was in the neighborhood Tuesday afternoon and swung by "just to see" and -- as promised -- work has begun. I hope to make it by myself this weekend to take a look around at the progress. So far, it's a lot of pipes and dirt, but suddenly it's starting to feel very, very real.
